The Davido-Chioma wedding hashtagged #Chivido2024 had all the trappings of a high society wedding; money, rizz, steeve and plenty of glamour spruced with top notch entertainment but surely missed some people that would have more power and pomp.
No one could believe the richest man in Africa was absent. Any one would have placed a bet that Alhaji Aliko Dangote would be the special guest of honour going by the public knowledge that he is very close to Davido’s father. For whatever reason, he was out of the picture.
The three biggest music artists in Nigeria, and indeed Africa are Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid. The presence of both Burna Boy and Wizkid definitely would have added some more power and pomp.
Others who went AWOL are Chris Brown, Tiwa Savage, 2Baba, D’Banj, Asake, K1 De Ultimate, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, Kizz Daniel and notable others
Fear of EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s agents were nowhere near the venue of the wedding but they loomed large around in spirit and in the consciousness of so many guests. It is particularly amusing to see people like Cubana Chief Priest darting from pillar to post with a basket to collect naira notes, to prevent them from getting strewn around on the floor for fear of abuse. This is not surprising as the nightclub man had just forfeited N10 million to the government on charges of naira abuse.
